His Batman is unique and should never to be duplicated. Adam West is a legend and an icon. I have always wondered if his character would translate today if he were made darker. His version of the character is fun, and also manages to present dynamic action, with a phenomenal voice and presence.
This was made clearer in the episode of Batman: The Animated Series, in the early 1990s. In the episode, Adam West plays the part of the Gray Ghost/Simon Trent in tandem with Kevin Conroy’s epic Batman/Bruce Wayne characterization. It is clear he was made for anytime, space, or situation. His animated reissue of the character of Batman can only be golden. Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders is a chance to recapture that flavor and the epic that was Batman of 1966.
It is currently available on Digital HD. Tuesday, November 1, it comes to us as a Blu-Ray and DVD Combo Pack. All the action, fun, capers, and uniqueness of an unforgettable series enters into a strong animated piece we will never forget.
