Despite many issues, Bethesda’s titles have met with resounding financial and critical success, due to their games giving the player a unique sense of ownership over the game’s world. While many dispute the quality of writing and combat, Bethesda succeeds in one aspect without a doubt, it is YOUR adventure and you decide how you go about it, exploring the world at your own pace. Not many franchises have been able to match the feeling. It becomes frustrating trying to get this experience and being met with a slew of technical problems. Somewhat dampens the experience, but when it works you are always in for a fun time. Due to Fallout 4‘s initial success, it’s clear that, to most, the hassle is worth the reward.
