Former WWE Women’s Champion and two time Intercontinental Champion Joanie “Chyna” Laurer has passed away. The Ninth Wonder of the World was a true pioneer in the world of wrestling, proving to everybody that women could hang with the boys. Breaking barriers as the first woman to get the IC title, enter the Royal Rumble, and be number one contender for the WWE (then WWF) Championship, Chyna will be missed. Although her life after wrestling had its ups and downs, her contributions to the world of wrestling is felt by many around the world.
Trish Stratus posted on Twitter about Laurer’s passing saying:
Shattered glass ceilings, kicked down doors, broke gender barriers, she was an anomaly & untouchable. Rest now-ur legacy lives on
