Ric Flair Q&A

Day 2 at Fanboy Expo was almost too much to contain! This years convention had more attendees than I’ve ever seen before, and that is an awesome thing to see. Seriously, the day was so busy it was hard to keep up with everything that was going on. With Q&A’s with the likes of Ric Flair, William Shatner, and Billy Dee Williams, to ALL of the guests being bombarded with lines to be greeted, and the absolutely amazing cosplay contest at the end of the night, today was a success.

The Cosplay Contest

With so much going on today, I wasn’t able to talk to the guests, but I’m supposed to come back and check tomorrow to see if we can snag any last interviews.

The cosplay today was unbelievable though, it looked like my favorite characters from all of the comic pages, TV shows, and movies, are living and standing right beside me. The cosplay contest was the biggest highlight of the evening, where dozens of participants gather their courage to strut the stage and show off their creative and brilliant costumes.

Both children and adults participated in the contest, and there were so many awesome costumes that it was hard for me to even decide who I liked best. Overall, those who came out on top were probably the ones who deserved it the most, because they seriously put the time into making them. I have a whole gallery of pictures on Facebook that you can check out until I am able to put a nice video together showcasing the event.

Finally, tonight there was a pretty cool after party going on for the fans. With everyone still dressed up in their cosplay outfits, Eric Stuart rocking out with his own band, and the Fanboy Staff playing some music as well, everyone was able to relax and mingle for the night. An aerial show from Las Vegas also performed for the evening to put an “ahh” moment in the crowd as they elegantly crafted their choreography perfectly.

Tomorrow is our final day at Fanboy and it’s always a sad moment to see the convention leave. With today being the heavy hitter for the weekend, hopefully tomorrow I’ll have some time to talk more with people or at least buy me a nice piece of original art. Lots more photos and videos to come after the weekend, so stay tuned!
