Microsoft has revealed their full line up of the free games with Xbox Live Gold membership users starting in January 2017.
As usual, Xbox Live members will be able to claim four free games in the month of January, with two being Xbox One titles and the other two as Xbox 360 titles, which are also backwards compatible.
Starting on January 1st for Xbox One, you will be able to download the tower defense game World of Van Helsing: Deathtrap, which is normally priced at $19.99. The other, and more impressive title available to download on January 16, is the popular fighting game Killer Instinct Season 2: Ultra Edition which would set you back at $39.99.
On the Xbox 360 side of games, starting on January 1st, you will are able to download the side-scrolling adventure game The Cave, regularly $14.99. Finally, on January 16, the last game for free download will be Rayman Origins, which is a very popular, and FUN platform classic normally set at $15. Again, both of these titles are backwards compatible for the Xbox One and can be claimed on either console.
For those are new to the Xbox world, Games With Gold is a program that Microsoft rolled out back in 2013 giving players four free games a month for those with an active Xbox Live membership. Not only do you get free games, you also get exclusive discounts each week on a batch of titles and multiplayer capabilities on games. Xbox Live Gold will run you about $10 a month or $60 a year, but the benefits are well worth it.
If you haven’t gotten a chance to claim your free games for December, you can still download the GTA-like game Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition, the horror survival game Outlast, and the intense racing game Burnout: Paradise for the remainder of the month.
