How to make an Xterra into a zombie killer

How to Make an Xterra Into a Zombie Killer

I saw this thumbnail and read the following:

Everyone says we are going to get arrested for driving this thing. What would we be charged with? The viewers voted on the paint, gun, color, graphics, and over all look of this vehicle. Thumper started life as a 2004 Nissan Xterra and I beat it into this condition over the years. This truck will now be used in the movie and video game Bad Seeds.

OK, I was interested. I wanted to know how the fuck they could get away with driving around a public street with a Terminator 2-style mini gun attached to the roof of their Xterra. Then I realized this vehicle was modded to be a full on Zombie Apocalypse survival machine. Or was it? Wouldn’t a zombie-proof truck at least have some bars or reinforced screens to protect the windows? I needed to know more, so I reached out to the guys and gals over at Bad Seeds Media to get the real dirt on “Thumper,” and how this zombie killing, butt chewing, project came to life.

Slickster: On a poll conducted on LiveLeak you asked, “Will we go to jail for driving this?” Although 41 percent of those polled said you were not breaking any laws when driving Thumper, have you experienced any interference from law enforcement?

Bad Seeds: Absoultly not quit to the contrary 100% of the interaction have been extremely positive. Most of the officers are were young and probably still following the project after speaking with us.

How long did you spend in pre-production and visualization before you started to mechanically work on Thumper?

Pre production was extremely fast. We went  just about straight to mechanical after they paint graphics were sorted out.

All of the aftermarket modifications on the Xterra are homemade. However, they look very professional. Do you have a background in prop building, perhaps from a theater or movie set experience?

No, absolutely not. I never went pass the eighth grade in school, but that was my dream had I stayed in school. I dream to work in the movie industry someday.

Xterra into a zombie killer
Thumper is a heavily modified zombie killer made from an Xterra.

The magazine for the chain gun, or mini gun, mounted to the top of Thumper looks like it was the most complex piece to make. Is that accurate, if not, what was the most difficult part to manufacture?

The magazine was a piece of cake! The bumper was extremely labor intensive.

Thumper is just one small part of a much larger project known as Bad Seeds. This will be both a movie and a video game. Can you tell us more about this project. Details!!!

We are making an interactive film. You see what we are doing as we do it. You get to vote on cool parts of the film in real time. Anyone can make a film and then say come see it. We are letting you see it as it is made. BTW we are all in aviation, so we work during the day and do this in our spare time.

Do you have a projected timeline for release? Where can people check out the progress on Bad Seeds?

There is no way to project a release date because the fans keep changing it as fast as we are making it.

Thanks for taking the time to talk with Slickster Magazine. If you need beta game testers please send downloads our way! Lastly, are there any shout outs are people you would like to acknowledge publicly?

Shot out… I got a shout out for ya. I really hate the way social media traps new talent.  It’s difficult for them to grow. My shout out is, post what ever you want within reason on my YouTube Videos and I will approve them. That’s my way of giving back to the community that has been so generous to us.

What do you guys think? Could Thumper withstand a full frontal zombie attack or would it get demolished? Leave answers in the comments below.
