Moirai is a game that, for the first time, made me think about it for an entire day after playing it. I found it on Steam while browsing the “free to play” section, saw the average playtime was around 10 minutes and decided what the heck, I’ll try it out. It’s amazing how much of a twist this little game provided. If I say anything more I’m afraid I’ll spoil it, so let’s move on to the fundamental aspects of it instead.

The graphics are nothing special. Don’t let Moirai’s pseudo-3D graphics and lack of animation distract you from the story. I actually enjoy the simple pixel sprites, they bring a warm, comfortable feel to the game. The graphics, music and controls, while simple, come together to make the atmosphere of the game unique.

I wan’t to keep this review short. Not because there isn’t much about this game to talk about, it’s actually the opposite. There is so much to talk about Moirai’s design philosophy, core mechanics and story that it’s best for all who are interested to play it for themselves. If I say anything more I would run the risk of spoiling the ending for those who want to play it. It’s really an experience that you can only witness once, so I advise that you give the game your undivided attention while playing.

If you have 10 minutes to spare, you can’t pass this game up. Let me know what you think of Moirai in the comments.
