Nintendo Switch raw introduction

It is not that the Nintendo Switch’s introduction in October is not exciting. It is. In all honesty, I have just come from brutal vehicular traffic and my senses are raw. You are on the road and some fool decides everybody should drive slower than the posted 35 mile-per-hour speed limit.

The person hits the brakes and nearly causes a line of crash and conga with all the drivers behind him. The pressure of traffic brings out the negative juices. There is excitement for the system; however, there are concerns.

The introduction should not downplay the final expectations of Nintendo’s Wii U. New is always nice, but it is what you do with the product. I am firm believer in the end of the Nintendo Wii U coincides with the introduction, and lifecycle, of the Nintendo Switch. The Nintendo 3DS, in whatever form, will end on a high note. The Nintendo Wii U deserves the same turn.

It needs five more titles that use the technology in the best way. At least two more first-person shooters should push the system into overdrive. Ultimate Red Steel Online, a high definition remake of  Red Steel 1 and 2, with an online component as just an example.  The hope is Nintendo uses the final days on the Nintendo Wii U to build bridges.

That is how you move on to the Nintendo Switch. The portable aspect is fantastic. The various control schemes are phenomenal. You can connect the game to the television. Nintendo’s titles will always look great. The third-party game’s looks, control, and depth, in the gameplay, and the number appearances in the new console’s life cycle need to start here, and now.

Skyrim appears in the Nintendo Switch trailer. It needs to appear on the Nintendo Switch, and other Bethesda games should make an appearance over the console’s life cycle. This should apply to all third-party games with true depth.

The final and only issue with this console is the connection to the television. The size of the portable screen seems amazing. I wonder though if all the games that connect to the television will look solid, or if there will be a loss of quality. Nintendo Switch is the step, beyond a step, of the Nintendo Wii U. It is the place for a 32-player Destiny 2 on Nintendo for the first time in different rooms, states, or possibly countries.

This might mean more fighting games and a competitive platform that accommodates individual needs, or e-sport purpose. It will be interesting to see how, what applications and online components operate inside of the machine. How might Netflix change with the use of Nintendo Switch?

It might finally mean multiplayer Mario, Sonic, or other platformer titles for a game competition. The concept of the console just opens up so many possibilities. It needs a first-person action game. I wonder about that Miyamoto first-person title. What game like Halo could hit on this console? How might FromSoftware use the Nintendo Switch? Good work, Nintendo good work, but keep it up.
